Menagerie - A Children’s Tarot
Menagerie is a tarot made for everyone, but with children in mind. My 11 year old likes to do tarot with me but we hadn’t found a set of cards for them that introduced real concepts from traditional tarot, but in a simplified and accessible way.
This deck introduces a different animal for each of the Major Arcana. The cards are minimalisitic and easy to read. They contain the name, a summary word, and the image which includes traditional symbols for the card as an early introduction for those who haven’t studied Rider-Waite-Smith yet. It also includes a bit of advice or lesson at the bottom, and on the side are the traditional name and number of the card.
Features
Each card features an animal that I felt captured the spirit of the card.
The background colors indicate the element of each card (Green for Earth, Blue for Water, Yellow for Air, and Orange/Red for Fire.
Traditional name and number are listed on the side
The advice or lesson that each animal brings is at the bottom.
