Natural Art with Ricky Losse

Some people can see beauty everywhere they go.  If you’ve ever been lucky enough to walk through the woods with Ricky, you’ll get the chance to hear and see it through their eyes. The color of a leaf, the bend of twig, it all serves a larger vision in the natural art Ricky makes.

Ricky began making ephemeral natural art during the pandemic when they began taking daily walks in the woods to recenter and reconnect.  Inspired by the book Morning Alters by Day Schildkret, Ricky started making art, both as a gift to passersby and also as a tribute back to the earth.

Speaking about their work, Ricky says, “We all have the ability to turn our unique thoughts and experiences into creative expressions… and what a gift that is! Your unique expression is a gift to anyone you share it with…it’s a gift to the entire world. Most importantly, your unique expression is a gift to and from yourself.”

Their work is so beautiful and inspiring and always leads me back to the earth and to my center.
